A search is continuing for 38-year-old Ben Gleeson, who was reported missing after being last seen in Billinudgel, New South Wales, on Monday, October 5, 2026. His disappearance has prompted appeals across the Northern Rivers, Gold Coast and Brisbane areas. According to an appeal shared by his family, Ben left his accommodation in Billinudgel between approximately 9:30 and 10 a.m. He was last known to have been online around 1:30 p.m. NSW time, or 12:30 p.m. Queensland time.
His family believes Ben may have travelled toward Byron Bay or gone on a bush walk somewhere between Byron Bay and Brisbane. His vehicle may have been left at a trailhead, prompting requests for the public to check trailhead car parks, nearby roads and walking areas. Ben is described as approximately 6 feet 5 inches tall, or 196 centimetres, with dark hair featuring grey speckles and brown eyes. He was reportedly wearing casual clothing suitable for a day walk.
His vehicle is a white Toyota HiLux double-cab ute with black “Supplyhaus” lettering on the doors and bonnet. The Queensland registration plate is 916LR4. The family is asking anyone who travelled through the Northern Rivers, Gold Coast or Brisbane areas since Monday to review dashcam footage. A sighting of Ben or his vehicle could help establish his movements.
At the latest update, Ben’s whereabouts remained unknown. No reliable public information confirming that he had been found was identified, and his circumstances remain unclear. Anyone with information is asked to contact Queensland Police Policelink on 131 444, quoting case number QP2601982365. A family contact number, 0432 651 578, has also been provided.
Ben’s family continues appealing to communities in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Northern Rivers, Byron Bay and surrounding areas to share the missing-person notice. They remain hopeful that information from the public will help locate him safely. Until authorities or his family confirm otherwise, Ben Gleeson remains a missing person.
